Almost Halfway Done

Well, after a very scary reaction to Taxol and a nice trip to the ER 30 minutes away with my head hanging out the window just to breathe I was able to take a week off and do the Taxotere instead today. It was a success, nothing short of a miracle! I am having some side effects but am able to take the drugs with no reaction. Chemo will finish March 8th if it goes as planned then 4 weeks later I start a 6 week regimen of daily Radiation. After that 4 surgeries (reconstruction and ovary removal) and I will officially be in remission. A SURVIVOR!

So much more than Cancer has been happening. Landon is using the potty at school and soon we will be implementing the program at home, we have had a few successfull trips. He is communicating well through PECS and is still in love with Ruby Sue, along with the rest of us even though she costs and arm and a leg with her skin and ass issues. He has grown so much and is dressing almost independently and plays with his peers. He is using toys correctly and LOVES flipping through trash magazines, don't know where that came from, hee! We are doing the Autism Speaks walk for him again this year and are looking for donations and walkers, you can see our site at http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/chicago/landonscrew

I got that first dreaded phone call from Lindsay's teacher that she dropped and f bomb when she couldn't find her sticker for her homework book. Lovely, apparently she heard it on the bus. Because Lindsay is already seeing the Social Worker because she is having a hard time with my Cancer the teacher simply explained to her we don't use those words. She told me it took everything in her not to laugh because it was in perfect context. She is now in Promissing Picassos art class with a few of the neighbor kids we adore and is loving it.

Otherwise, life is still going, my family and friends are keeping me strong and I am ready to get this crappy weather out of the way so I can let my bald head shine. I am grateful for the little things now, puts it all in perspective.

The hits keep on coming but I am so very truly blessed to have my life and it only gets better from here.
